Bixie ? 4 year old male Greyhound

Bixie is a 4 year old ex-racing greyhound fella who is looking for his retirement home now after a good racing career. He is a beautiful fawn colour with a hint of blue, and his coat is very soft to the touch. Bixie is a gorgeous boy, full of fun and very easy going. He is a joy to be around and doesn?t take long to win you over! He tends to take everything in his stride, is well used to being around people, walks nicely on the lead and travels good in the car. He?s a brilliant all-rounder type dog and will settle well in to the home life. Bixie gets on very well with our other greyhounds and causes no problems. He has not been tested with small dogs but this can be carried out prior to adoption if required. Often ex-racing greyhounds take a bit of socialisation work to realise smaller breeds are in fact dogs as they would never have seen them before. He is not cat friendly. Frazar ? 3 year old male Greyhound

Frazar is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound boy who was no longer fast enough for the race track. He is a lovely big boy with a black tuxedo coat that, once he puts on some condition, will be a real stunner. Right now he is shedding his kennel coat and so looks a bit moth eaten… certainly not ready to go to the ball! Frazar is a lively boy who would enjoy an active life, perhaps with other dogs that he could play with to burn off that excess energy. He gets on well with the other greyhounds in our kennels and greatly enjoys his romp in the paddock. Frazar loves people too and is a real cuddle monster. Frazar has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding during the first couple of weeks and allow him time to get accustomed and learn the house rules. It usually takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience. Frazar has not been tested with small dogs or ...

Pluto ? 2 year old male Greyhound

Pluto is a 2 year old ex-racing Greyhound whose owner decided he no longer wanted him. He was going to be euthanized before luckily getting intercepted by one of our volunteers. Pluto is a lovely big black and white boy who sadly hasn?t received the care he should have. He is lacking in both weight and condition and will need plenty of good food before he is back in top form. Pluto is a lovely boy, very quiet and undemanding. He is gentle and delicate about asking for attention, and then soaks it up so gratefully. He is very laid back and tends to stand back and observe rather than getting in the thick of things. We feel what he really needs is to go to a home environment where he can experience all the comforts of the home life and have a chance for his little character to develop. Bubble ? 2 year old male Greyhound

Bubble is a 2 year old ex-racing Greyhound boy. He has a black coat with a couple of white toes. Bubble could do with gaining some condition as his coat health is quite poor right now and is dull in appearance. This will improve with good food and once he is out of the stressy kennels and in a loving home. Bubble is quite lively and excitable for a greyhound and is full of energy. He seems to find kennel life quite stressful and we feel this excess energy is his way of trying to cope with it. He can get a bit bossy with other dogs when he is in this excited state, such as at the beginning of walk time, but its very early days yet for this boy and we are confident that he will settle down and start to relax once in the right home. He just needs someone with patience and a big enough heart to take him on and how him the joys of relaxation as right now he is not a happy dog. Lil ? 2 year old female Greyhound

Lil is a 2 year old greyhound girl who was not fast enough for the race track. She is a beautiful little lassie with a black coat and white snowflakes running through it. She?s going to be a real stunner once she gains some condition in her coat and becomes a shiny black beauty. Lil is a jolly, active little girl and enjoys getting out and about on her walks. She loves people and getting fuss and we think she?s going to totally adore toys once she learns what they are all about. Lil gets on very well with our other greyhounds and causes no fuss. She has not been tested with small dogs or cats but these can be carried out prior to adoption if required. Often ex-racing greyhounds take a bit of socialisation work to realise smaller breeds are in fact dogs as they would never have seen them before. Lady Jane is a 4 year old Greyhound lady who is now looking for her forever home. Though she grew up in training kennels, she never raced due to an injury she sustained early on in her career. Lady Jane is a beautiful blue and white girl with big striking eyes. Sadly the photo does not do her proper justice. She currently has lots of kennel coat that is shedding out, but once that?s all gone she?s going to be a stunning girlie. Lady Jane is a happy, playful girl who is a joy to be around. She loves romping offlead in the paddock with the other greyhounds and seems to really enjoy life. She is used to being around people and likes to soak up all the attention she can get. Pixie is a 5 year old ex-racing Greyhound lady. She has a soft black coat that is going to be stunning when she gains a bit more condition. Pixie is a wee bit timid with strangers and unfamiliar situations as she has spent her last 5 years in racing kennels and hasn?t seen much of the outside world yet. Once she knows you she?s a friendly little girl, however, and really all she needs is a gentle hand and a patient heart. She would do well in a home with another, self assured dog already present so she could follow their lead and gain confidence from watching them. It shouldn?t take her too long to come out of her shell once she?s out of kennels and in a loving home with lots of individual attention. Pixie is well behaved with our other greyhounds in the kennels and enjoys being around them.
