Sam ? 7-8 year old male Collie cross German Shepherd

Sam is a nice Collie Cross German Shepherd, approximately 7-8 years old. Sam is vaccinated and neutered. He was handed to Helping Hands Rescue because his owner was taken into hospital poorly. Sam seems a nice natured gentleman who loves life. We’ve been told he is good with dogs, cats and children but due to his size I will not home him with very young children. Hi, my name is Alfie and I’m a Lhasa Apso, I’m about 4 years old and have had a bit of a rough start in life. Now I’m with Helping Hands Rescue my world has improved. I have nipped someone in the past but they were trying to make me do something I didn’t understand so I was scared but would probably be best rehomed without children just in case. Hello my name is Stella and I’m a 2 year old Boxer cross. Nigel took me for a walk in the woods today and I heard him tell his wife “she’s a nice girl”. I think he liked me as he kept asking for a kiss. I was nervous at first but I really enjoyed my walk and even paddled in the stream. I hope my new owner will do the same for me! Miss Ripples is a 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Unfortunately, she has been with us for a long time and really needs a home to call her own. She does get overlooked because of her age but she could give the youngsters a run for their money!!! She adores human company and will make a fantastic companion. She is quite happy pottering and having a game of tug of war. She would have to be the only animal in the house, as she doesn’t like sharing attention and wasn’t socialised very well by her previous owners. She would also need an adult only home who have had Staffordshire Bull Terrier experience and know their characters! Teddy ? 3 year old male Bull Mastiff

Teddy is a male Bull Mastiff of around 3 years old, he is a very sweet boy and very handsome too, he is good on the lead, will sit, down and give paw, he has shown no bad ways with any other dogs and is very people friendly. When he came into our rescue he had a broken tooth which had been left and had rotted, this must have caused him pain but he did not complain about it and it did not make him irritable, this tooth has now been removed. Teddy is well behaved and very easy going, he loves attention and being made a fuss of, he adores men and will hunt them out in a crowd, he is also happy to be with women too. You must be prepared for great slobbery kisses from Teddy as he gives these with great relish at every and any opportunity! Teddy loves his food and treats so this would make extra training very easy. He is quite agile, but he is not a big Bullmastiff, this boy would be happy to go on long walks and would suit an outdoors type person, but he is also happy just to mooch about ...

Summer ? 2-3 year old female Rottweiler

Summer is a 2-3 year old female Rottweiler who arrived with us in June 2010. She has very dark markings but is definitely a pure Rott. Summer is a very calm, placid girl who loves to play but loves cuddles even more. She is microchipped, fully vaccinated & is due to be spade before she is rehomed. Summer is great with all other dogs & although we have no history for her with children she has been an absolute dream with everyone she has met. She is brilliant on & off lead, even a young child can walk her. The photos do not do her justice, you really do have to meet this very special girl because you will not be able to stop yourself falling in love with her. Conrad is a quiet, 18 month old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier. He is a typical loving Staffordshire Bull Terrier boy and enjoys having a nice cuddle. He is about 18 months old at the most. Poor Conrad is not coping in kennels and would love a foster or forever home. Conrad loves his walks and when exercising in our enclosed compound he has a good recall. Joy ? 1 year old female Terrier Cross

Joy is a a lovely Terrier cross girl aged approximately 1 year old. Joy came to us after her 7 days were up having being found as a stray, therefore we have no history or background on her. Joy is . . . full of joy! Joy is rather exuberant, so we will be looking for a very active and experienced home to give Joy the start that she deserves. After a short training session just 5 days after Joy arriving with us we find that she is rather talented, even narrowly missing out from appearing on national TV, unfortunately Joy was not chosen on this occasion, but she continues to enjoy learning new things, going over A frames, jumps and she has an excellent retrieve and recall! Joy, although she does go out with other dogs, she would not be suitable to live with other dogs as she is on the go the whole time and demands your attention at all times, and we don’t think this would fair on your other dogs!
